Sande
Churchill, PhD, MCC
Sande Churchill, and her associates, are dedicated to
coaching and consulting with leaders in the areas of expanding professional
objectives and possibilities, enhancing leadership skills and capacities
and defining and achieving personal growth goals.
Sande has been part of academic institutions –
teaching, leading and consulting – for the better part of 25 years.
Seven years ago, she left her position as assistant dean at Duke University’s
Fuqua School of Business to start her coaching practice. She also continues
a vital practice in life coaching. Since moving to Nashville, she has reorganized her business to focus on coaching and consulting
for leaders in both academia and the business community. She delivers
retreats, consults and offers full-scale programs in several areas pertaining
to people change, cultural integration and strategic learning for both
individuals and large-scale systems change.
Her style as a coach is one of a challenging and creative
partner, crafting with you a vision of what matters most to you, and then
laying out a pathway to get there. She often works at the interface of
career and life objectives to help her clients discern where values, interests
and commitments align. She teaches you to assess your goals and your dreams
boldly and helps you define with courage where you want to go. She will
provide you a safe, yet challenging, space to pursue your goals –
leveraging choices into new realities.
Sande designed the Executive Coaching Program for two academic degree programs, and is currently leading the executive coaching services for both programs at the Owen School of Management, Vanderbilt University. The Master of Management in Health Care is a new one year leadership development program for middle to senior level health care professionals. The 25 students in this inaugural class have 9 individual hours of executive coaching to complement the management course work which makes up the academic focus of the program. The Executive MBA program offers a fast-paced MBA degree program for middle level managers from across the region. The executive coaching services allow these students to leverage the business skills into new confidence and increased leadership effectiveness at work. There are 50 students in this program.
Sande is certified by the International Coach Federation
as a Master Certified Coach (MCC), which is the highest designation in
the coaching profession. Sande is certified in several assessment instruments,
MBTI, DiSC, Emotional Intelligence, Appreciative Inquiry and 360°
feedback. She holds a PhD in Philosophy and Cultural Studies from Union
Institute and a MA in Liberal Studies from Duke University.
